Saturday 3 April: Amman – Madaba – Mt. Nebo – Dead Sea

After breakfast your tour today starts with visiting the St. George Church in Madaba with its famous mosaic map. Drive to Mt. Nebo, from where Moses viewed the Promised Land.
Enjoy (included) lunch at Mazayen Restaurant in Mount Nebo and then drive on to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on the earth’s surface. Float in the salty waters and try out the famous healing mud. Overnight at the 4* Holiday Inn Dead Sea Resort at the Dead Sea.
Sunday 4 April: Dead Sea – Ma’in Hot Springs – Dead Sea
Breakfast at hotel.
0900 Today, visit the Ma’in Hot Springs (included), to enjoy the mineral-rich waters of these hyper- thermal waterfalls. The springs are located 264m below sea level in one of the most breath-taking desert oases in the world. These falls originate from winter rainfalls in the highland plains of Jordan and eventually feed the 109 hot and cold springs in the valley. This water is heated to temperatures of up to 63° celsius by underground lava fissures, as it makes its way through the valley, before emptying into the Zarqa River. This is a natural spring area and not a modern spa, although spa treatments are available at a supplement. Return to your hotel and you will be free for the rest of the day.
Overnight at the 4* Holiday Inn Dead Sea Resort.
Monday 5 April: Dead Sea – Dana Nature Reserve – Shobak – Petra
Breakfast at hotel.
After breakfast transfer to Dana – the largest nature reserve in Jordan, and home to a great variety of wildlife. Today you have a short hiking tour on the Campsite Trail. (Grade: Easy Distance: 1.5 km Time: 1 hour Starting time: 11.00 AM from the Rummana Campsite) Description: This circular walk around the Rummana campsite is a great place to see birds, especially during migration seasons. The scenic viewpoints along the trail offer picturesque views of the Dana Mountains. Lunch box included.
Afterwards, it is a short journey to Shobak to visit the Crusader castle, before continuing on to Petra for what is surely the highlight of any visit to Jordan!
Tonight, if you are up to it and if we arrive early enough, you may choose to take the optional (US$25pp) Petra by Night visit from 2030 to 2230. This is a magical way to see part of the rock city by candlelight. Explore the old city, by walking the entire Siq to the Treasury, which is lit by over 1,500 candles. This is not for the faint-hearted, as it requires a lot of walking over rough terrain at night. You will have been on your feet all day, so it is better to decide locally, whether it is for you or not.
Overnight at the 5* Hyatt Zaman Resort in Petra.
Tuesday 6 April: Full day in Petra
Breakfast at hotel.
After breakfast transfer to Petra for a full day to explore one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. You will enter through the Siq and visit the Treasury, Street of Facades, Theatre, Colonnaded Street etc.
Enjoy your (included) lunch in the Basin Restaurant at the 5* Crown Plaza Resort. You will then be able to visit the Monastery and/or the High Place of Sacrifice today. There are a lot of steps involved but it is definitely worthwhile for the spectacular views! Make sure that your camera or phone is fully charged because you will take dozens of photographs in one of the most spectacular places on earth. Return to your hotel for a rest.
Overnight at the 5* Hyatt Zaman Hotel in Petra.
Wednesday 7 April: Petra – Little Petra – Wadi Rum
Breakfast at hotel.
After breakfast drive to little Petra for a short visit before transferring to Wadi Rum Visitors Centre where you will meet our representative. From there you will start your jeep tour including a freshly prepared lunch. A jeep tour is the best way to discover lots of sites in Wadi Rum.
The jeep will stop at each site giving you time to explore the area and maybe even climb up on some of the beautiful natural formed bridges in Wadi Rum.
At sunset we will take you to the highest accessible point so that you can watch this spectacular natural occurrence. The absence of light pollution at Wadi Rum means that you will also have the best possible opportunity of seeing the stars there.
