Saturday 12 October/Wednesday 8 April: Dublin – Amman
1055 Depart Dublin on Turkish Airlines flight TK 1976 to Istanbul.
1720 Arrive in Istanbul. You will have a few hours to spare to explore this brand-new airport – one of the largest in the world. Get something to eat here, as you will be arriving in Amman quite late.
2115 Depart Istanbul for Amman on TK 812.
2340 Arrive in Amman. Our airport representative will be waiting for you with a name sign and will help you with immigration and customs procedures. Your English-speaking guide will wait for you in the Arrivals Hall, also holding a name sign and will transfer you to the 5* Regency Palace Hotel in Amman for overnight.

Sunday 13 October/Thursday 9 April: Amman – Jerash – Ajloun – Amman
Breakfast at hotel.
Your English-speaking guide will be waiting for you in the lobby of your hotel. Start your first morning in Jordan with a city tour. Visit the Citadel in Amman, with beautiful views over the city. Afterwards you will have a short stop at one of the Falafel restaurants to have a new taste experience. Continue to the Roman Theatre, located in the heart of Amman for a visit, then drive on to Jerash, to visit the world’s best preserved Roman provincial city. Enjoy (included) lunch at Artemis Restaurant, Jerash after which you will move on to explore Ajloun. Here you will visit the Crusaders Castle, with beautiful views over the area.
This evening, sit down and get to know your fellow travellers while enjoying a traditional local dinner (included) at Tawaheen Al Hawa Restaurant. After that, take in an “Amman by Night” tour, to experience the bustling night life in Amman, visiting the old and traditional coffee shops (guide and group transfer are included).

Monday 14 October/Friday 10 April: Amman – Madaba – Mt. Nebo – Dead Sea
Breakfast at hotel.
After breakfast your tour today starts with visiting the St. George Church in Madaba with its famous mosaic map. Drive to Mt. Nebo, from where Moses viewed the Promised Land.
Enjoy (included) lunch at Mazayen Restaurant in Mount Nebo and then drive on to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on the earth’s surface. Float in the salty waters and try out the famous healing mud. Overnight at the 4* Holiday Inn Dead Sea Resort at the Dead Sea.

Tuesday 15 October/Saturday 11 April: Dead Sea – Ma’in Hot Springs – Dead Sea
Breakfast at hotel.
0900 Today, visit the Ma’in Hot Springs (included), to enjoy the mineral-rich waters of these hyper- thermal waterfalls. The springs are located 264m below sea level in one of the most breath-taking desert oases in the world. These falls originate from winter rainfalls in the highland plains of Jordan and eventually feed the 109 hot and cold springs in the valley. This water is heated to temperatures of up to 63° celsius by underground lava fissures, as it makes its way through the valley, before emptying into the Zarqa River. And you could enjoy a wide variety of professional services including mud wraps, hydro-jet baths and showers, underwater massages, mud facials, electrotherapy and cosmetology treatments (treatments not included). A pack lunch will be provided. Afternoon and evening at leisure.

Wednesday 16 October/Sunday 12 April: Dead Sea – Dana Nature Reserve – Shobak – Petra
Breakfast at hotel.
After breakfast transfer to Dana – the largest nature reserve in Jordan, and home to a great variety of wildlife. Today you have a short hiking tour on the Campsite Trail. (Grade: Easy Distance: 1.5 km Time: 1 hour Starting time: 11.00 AM from the Rummana Campsite) Description: This circular walk around the Rummana campsite is a great place to see birds, especially during migration seasons. The scenic viewpoints along the trail offer picturesque views of the Dana Mountains. Lunch box included.
Afterwards, it is a short journey to Shobak to visit the Crusader castle, before continuing on to Petra for what is surely the highlight of any visit to Jordan!
We will start your Petra experience with the Petra Night Show (included) from 2030 to 2230, which is a magical way to see part of the rock city by candlelight. Explore the old city, by walking the entire Siq to the Treasury, which is lit by over 1,500 candles. (Petra by night is on 13 April for that group.)

Thursday 17 October/Monday 13 April: Full day in Petra
Breakfast at hotel.
After breakfast transfer to Petra for a full day to explore one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. You will enter through the Siq and visit the Treasury, Street of Facades, Theatre, Colonnaded Street etc.
Enjoy your (included) lunch in the Basin Restaurant at the 5* Crown Plaza Resort. You will then be able to visit the Monastery and/or the High Place of Sacrifice today. There are a lot of steps involved but it is definitely worthwhile for the spectacular views! Make sure that your camera or phone is fully charged because you will take dozens of photographs in one of the most spectacular places on earth.

Friday 18 October/Tuesday 14 April: Petra – Little Petra – Wadi Rum
Breakfast at hotel.
After breakfast drive to little Petra for a short visit before transferring to Wadi Rum Visitors Centre where you will meet our representative. From there you will start your jeep tour including a freshly prepared barbeque lunch. A jeep tour is the best way to discover lots of sites in Wadi Rum.
The jeep will stop at each site giving you time to explore the area and maybe even climb up on some of the beautiful natural formed bridges in Wadi Rum.
At sunset we will take you to the highest accessible point so that you can watch this spectacular natural occurrence. The absence of light pollution at Wadi Rum means that you will also have the best possible opportunity of seeing the stars there.
Dinner (included) and overnight at the Mazayen Luxury Campsite in Wadi Rum.

Saturday 19 October/Wednesday 15 April: Wadi Rum – Aqaba
This morning you have the unique experience of seeing the sunrise at Wadi Rum. After that, it’s back to the campsite for breakfast. Then you will transfer to Aqaba on the Red Sea, where later you will check in at your hotel and have a chance to relax after your two hectic days in Petra and Wadi Rum.

Sunday 20 October/Thursday 16 April: Aqaba
Breakfast at hotel.
After breakfast, enjoy a 4-hour cruise (included), including snorkeling kit and BBQ lunch at the Berenice beach. Return to your hotel to relax for a free afternoon and evening.

Monday 21 October/Friday 17 April: Aqaba
Breakfast at hotel. Full day free to enjoy the sunshine by the pool, play golf or take a tour.
Tuesday 22 October/Saturday 18 April: Aqaba – Jerusalem – Amman
Early breakfast at hotel.
0730 (October group only) Depart Aqaba for the Arava Border crossing into Israel. Journey north by highway, inside Israel, on a 4-hour coach ride to Jerusalem. The day starts with a panoramic view from the Mount of Olives – a good place for an introduction to the city and its history. Then we visit the holy sites of the three religions represented in Jerusalem. We start with a walk to the Wailing Wall, which represents the last remnants of the Jewish temple destroyed by the Romans. Usually, you can see people at worship in this holy place. If open to visitors, we ascend to the Temple Mount, where we can see the famous Dome of the Rock. Then we continue through the Arab Market (Suq) to the Via Dolorosa, Jesus’ “way of suffering”, which leads us to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, where, according to Christian tradition, Jesus was crucified and buried. Lunch will be included before visiting King David’s Tomb and the room of the Last Super at Mount Zion. Late afternoon depart Jerusalem, heading for Amman and your last night in Jordan. Evening free.

N.B. This tour incorporates a lot of travelling by air, coach, jeep, walking, swimming, partying etc. It is designed as an intensive introduction to the fabulous culture and history of Jordan & Jerusalem. Our clients are usually over 50 but everyone is welcome. You will have some free time to experience the delights of Jordan & Jerusalem on your own but mainly it is a pretty busy tour. You should have reasonably good mobility and a reasonable state of health to enjoy the trip fully. Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory. Please note that some of the walking surfaces are uneven and caution must be taken, particularly “Petra by Night” which requires walking at night along uneven surfaces.
