Over 50’s Malta
Park Hotel, Sliema, Malta – Best Value Hotel!
1 Week Bed & Breakfast from €379
Set in the heart of the Mediterranean between Sicily and North Africa, Malta is blessed with approximately 300 days of sunshine each year and makes the perfect destination for a relaxing off-season holiday. Being so far south, the warm climate is ideal for late Autumn, Winter and early Spring vacations, while the long flat promenades make it great for stretching your legs. It is not just the climate that attracts visitors to the shores of this magical island though – history abounds here and there are plenty of interesting sites to take in, as well as a warm and welcoming atmosphere that immediately makes John Galligan Travel’s Irish Over 50’s holidaymakers feel at home. The people are warm and friendly and delighted to greet you. There are regular flights by Ryanair from Dublin and Easyjet from Belfast.
Sliema, once a fishing village, has developed from a summer resort for the rich families of Valletta to the commercial and entertainment centre that it is today. It is also a major residential area and houses several hotels. It is a busy town located centrally on the Eastern side of Malta and enjoys stunning views of the capital city Valletta on one side and of the open sea on the other.
Sliema is the perfect place to catch buses to other towns and villages or to catch the water taxi to Valletta. There, you can visit the museums, palaces and historical places associated with the Knights of St.John, or take boat trips round the island. It is a great place for shopping, eating out and relaxing in one of the numerous cafes found all along the seaside.
The Park Hotel is located in the core of all this. It is situated up a side street, a few metres from the sea, and just across the road from the seaside promenade. At a short walking distance from the hotel one can get buses to all parts of the island as well as water taxis to the capital city and the harbour. The seaside promenade, which runs for several kilometres spanning from Gzira to St. Julians is full of shops, restaurants, bars, and internet cafes and is also ideal for walking and jogging. The shoreline is rocky, but nevertheless ideal for swimming and sunbathing by the clearest sea of the Mediterranean.
The hotel is locally graded as a 4 star but Irish people should regard it as a good 3-star. It has 152 bedrooms, maintained to a comfortable standard. The Roof Top Swimming Pool & Terrace offers a relaxing area with amazing views of The Grand Harbour.
Complimentary Wi-Fi is also available in Hotel Lobby & Bar area. The Park Hotel has a great location and is the perfect option for experiencing the Maltese Islands, being within easy access to Malta’s most popular Historical sites.
Air-conditioned rooms of approximately 19 sq metres, with 2 single beds, TV and private bathroom, writing desk, heating, bath, hairdryer, free toiletries, toilet, bathroom, TV, telephone, refrigerator, safe & Wake Up Service/Alarm Clock
