Dolmen Resort, St Paul’s Bay, Malta
Set in the heart of the Mediterranean between Sicily and North Africa, Malta is blessed with approximately 300 days of sunshine each year and makes the perfect destination for a relaxing off-season holiday. The Dolmen Resort is a modern hotel built around the remains of a prehistoric temple, the Dolmen. It is right on the seafront of Qawra and Bugibba in St Paul’s Bay, with it’s long promenade. It is a large hotel with great facilities and excellent cuisine. Ideal for a relaxed Over 50s Holiday. It has 413 rooms spread over 6 floors. It also has an impressive lobby, 24-hour reception, lift access, various restaurants, bars, Internet access, a nightclub, a casino and a kids club. Laundry and room services are also available (fees apply).
Shops, bars and restaurants are easily accessible from the hotel and there is a small man-made beach across the road. There is a bus stop directly next to the hotel from which the island can be explored. Valletta, Mdina, Hagar Qim and Gozo are all possible destinations. Public transport costs in Malta are very low, so travelling around the island will not break the bank.
