Midway between Iceland and Norway, The Faroe Islands consist of 18 tiny isles, and today you spend ashore on Streymoy in the capital of Torshavn, one of the tiniest capitals in the world. During your time here, you can choose to join an optional boat cruise to the Vestmanna cliffs, which are amoing the tallest in Europe.

As you have two days in the capital, you can enjoy an unforgettable visit to the Blue Lagoon, an open-air pool that steams with geo-thermal heat and is said to be rich in reviving minerals. Plus you will have a chance to join an optional full-day excursion to three of Iceland's most impressive landmarks: Thingvelliur, Gulfoss Waterfall and Geysir, known collectively as "The Golden Circle". Alternatively, learn about the local wildlife on an included excursion which features a visit to Reykjanesviti to see kittiwakes and guillemots.

Arrive 0800 and depart 1800. Akureyri, Iceland's second largest town, is compact enough to explore on foot and enjoys a superb setting amid snow-capped mountains. The town was first settled by the Vikings in the 9th Century and offers a gateway to some outstanding natural attractions, such as the Godafoss Waterfall. Other optional tour opportunities are to take a relaxing dip in the Nature Baths at Myvatn, a pool of geothermal water drawn from depths of up to 8,200 feet. You can also take a thrilling optional flight over Grimsey Island.

Arrive at 0800 and depart at 1600. Return to the remote Faroe Islands today, to the second largest town of the archipelago which sits on the island of Bordoy. Klaksvik is a quaint fishing town located between two inlets facing a sheltered harbour. From here you can join an excursion to Cape Enniberg, the northernmost point of the Faroe Islands on the island of Vodoy, home to an important bird colony.

Arrive at 0800 and depart again at 1800. Set on the Scottish Island of Orkney, Kirkwall was made a royal burgh by King James III of Scotland and still proudly displays its royal heritage. Just six miles off the coast of Scotland, the unspoilt Orkney Islands offer dramatic scenery and an interesting history, with the greatest concentration of pre-historic sites anywhere in Europe. Just 20 of the 70 islands are inhabited, with the largest known as "Mainland", which is home to the islands' major town , Kirkwall. The town is home to a number of significant architectural sites, including the original "Kirk" that gave the town its name. All are protected by UNESCO. A n optional excursion takes you to Skara Brae and the Ring of Brodgar, two historic Neolithic sites.
